The Government of Kuwait, represented by the Environment Public Authority (EPA), has pledged to ensure the implementation of its National Adaptation Plan (NAP) in partnership with other governmental and non-governmental institutions. I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to all of the experts and national institutions, both local and international, who have collaborated in a participatory manner to create an action plan that meets the actual requirements of the Kuwaiti State and the local environment. The interaction of natural and man-made factors, which is universally referred to as global warming, is the primary factor in the expansion of the negative effects of climate change. The Environment Public Authority (EPA) has developed The National Adaptation Plan as a result of the State of Kuwait's commitment to environmental preservation. In addition, a national coordination mechanism has been identified to implement a variety of national initiatives to protect the various vital sectors from the Negative Impacts of Climate Change. A sustainable program has been proposed to increase resilience and build national capacities to address the risks and negative impacts of climate change, despite the difficulty of dealing with its complexity and impacts on multiple sectors. The management practices, functional practices, technical practices, land use planning, water management, protection of human health, and identification of short-, medium-, and long-term climate change adaptation initiatives are the four vital sectors that are the focus of the proposed programs. The primary challenge that Kuwait and its inhabitants face is adapting to the challenges posed by climate change. Due to the fact that climate change is a global phenomenon, the risk of climate change is not restricted to a single location or individual who emits greenhouse gases; rather, the risk extends beyond that location and will affect all humans. Where adaptation to climate change necessitates the involvement of all stakeholders in the planning and execution of numerous initiatives, including those related to water, coastal areas, the marine environment, human health, and others As a result, in order to put into action the programs that have been proposed to adapt to climate change and lessen the negative effects of socio-economic issues, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will seek technical assistance from international organizations, the business community, and other stakeholders.
